Sourav has over 15 years of experience in restructuring, private equity, and investment banking. His experience includes numerous in- and out-of-court bankruptcies and restructurings, capital financings, and M&A transactions in the U.S. and internationally. He has advised clients across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, technology, retail, industrials, and restaurants.
At ToneyKorf, Sourav currently serves as the Chief Strategy Officer for US Family Health Plan, a managed care plan providing TRICARE benefits on behalf of the Department of Defense (“DOD”). In this role, he oversees initiatives across the organization related to building and strengthening clinical programs, driving member growth and implementing strategic plans. During his eight years, the plan has seen membership grow by approximately 27%, hitting an all-time high since emerging from Chapter 11. Additionally, Sourav has served as Finance Director for a for-profit health system undergoing a number of corporate and financial challenges, including the abrupt resignation of the CFO, liquidity constraints, and the execution of “going in-network” strategy. Sourav was also involved in assisting with various financial initiatives at the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, a 1,000 + bed hospital owned by Bergen County in NJ and overseen by a County Legislative Board.
Prior to joining ToneyKorf, Sourav worked at Grant Thornton in their corporate restructuring practice, as an investment professional within Citi’s $2 billion Special Situations fund, and as an investment banker in Citi’s Global Technology practice. His key restructuring experience includes Saint Vincents Catholic Medical Centers of New York where he assisted the Interim Management team in its Chapter 11 restructuring; advising the senior lender group of a national restaurant chain throughout its bankruptcy and reorganization; and advising a top academic hospital system on potential spin-offs and divestitures. As a private equity investor at Citi, he analyzed potential investments across several industries in North and South America. As an investment banker at Citi, he evaluated strategic alternatives for various clients, including sell-side acquisitions, IPOs and LBOs for large-cap technology companies.
Sourav is a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors.
He holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a B.A. in Economics & Sociology from Dartmouth College.
