Margaret (“Peg”) Brubaker is a Director with ToneyKorf Partners based in Virginia. Peg is a seasoned professional specializing in Human Resources. Her broad experience includes working in hospitals, insurance, and healthcare settings. 

Peg has both consulted and served as senior management for many organizations, including that of the Chief Human Resource Officer and Senior Vice President of Human Resources. She has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, employee and labor relations, communications, compensation, employee benefits, organizational staff/leadership development, workforce planning, recruitment, reengineering, service excellence, and HRIS.

Most recently, Peg served as Director at Milford Health & Medical, where she provided compensation, benefit, payroll, and communications support for the organization’s transition into Yale New Have Health. In addition to her role in human resources, Peg led the turnaround of the organization’s home care agency and the wind-down of the physician practices.

Previously Peg worked as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. Peg was hired after the separation of Brookdale from its former parent company to assist with the organization’s poor labor relations. Peg was a strategic partner to the CEO and a change agent responsible for re-establishing the Human Resource function and improving overall employee relations. After leaving her permanent position at Brookdale, she consulted with the organization to help finalize, implement, and communicate results of a ten-year salary audit. 

Peg has also been the Chief Human Resource Officer to the largest government program-based health insurance company in New York and to a multi-state nursing home dialysis provider. Prior to that, she was with a large medical malpractice insurance company and a major academic medical center in NYC.

Peg holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from William Paterson University and attended the Center for Creative Leadership. She is a member of the HR Society for Human Resources Management and the American Society for Healthcare Human Resource Administration

Favorite city to visit: I have always enjoyed traveling both across the US and abroad, and I have to say that my favorite city to visit is Paris. The combination of history, art, culture, and architecture keeps me wanting to go back and explore more.

Current hobbies: Being able to disconnect, spend time outdoors, and enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of my labor are some of the reasons I enjoy gardening so much!
