Stephen Potts is a Vice President at ToneyKorf Partners, LLC, working out of Boston, MA. Stephen has over seven years of restructuring experience working across various industries.

After beginning his career in the capital markets, he realized his true passion was helping clients navigate their most critical turning points, and as such he decided to enter the management consulting industry and never looked back.

Over the course of his career, Stephen has advised on debtor-and creditor-side restructurings and turnarounds–both in and out of court, distressed M&A engagements, asset divestitures, and liquidations for clients ranging in size from $20 million to over $6 billion operating in industries including, but not limited to, medical-devices manufacturing, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, energy, and retail.

Prior to joining ToneyKorf, Stephen held Vice President positions at AlixPartners, a global management consulting firm, and Capstone Partners, a middle-market investment bank, in their respective restructuring practices.

Stephen received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Bentley University and his M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where he triple majored in Finance, Economics, and Strategy.

Stephen is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors, and the Turnaround Management Association.

Get to Know Stephen

Where I am from:  I grew up in Portland, Maine and still consider it to be “home,” but have spent significant time in the tri-state area as well as Chicago. I now live in the Boston suburbs and am making it feel like my second “home.”

Hobbies:  My favorite thing to do is spend time with my niece and nephew and watch them grow up, which is happening far too fast.

What I do outside of work:  Having grown up on the ocean, I deeply enjoy anything related to being on or near it, such as going to the beach, sailing, or just eating a nice meal overlooking it. I also enjoy staying active, whether at the gym or hiking in the mountains.

They always send the A-team with a high level of trust and integrity.
