Randa J. Karambelas is a Director at ToneyKorf Partners and is based in New York.  She focuses on providing crisis management, strategic business planning, operational turnarounds, and transactional services, as well as serving in other financial advisory and interim management roles.  Randa has experience in various industries, most recently specializing in the healthcare industry.

Since January 2010, Randa has worked with Saint Vincents Catholic Medical Centers of New York (“SVCMC”) as a financial advisor in various roles through its high profile and complex restructuring, and subsequent bankruptcy, one of the largest Chapter 11 bankruptcies in the healthcare industry. Randa is a key part of the management team for the Post-Effective-Date SVCMC, partnering with the Liquidating Trustee to optimize creditor recovery. Currently, Randa serves as the acting Chief Projects Officer at US Family Health Plan, a $120 million managed care program operated for the Department of Defense, which provides healthcare benefits to military families and retirees.

Prior to joining ToneyKorf, Randa was previously with Grant Thornton LLP, as well as the BMC Group and AlixPartners.

Randa holds a B.A. from the University of Vermont, where she majored in Political Science.  She is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (“ABI”) and International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation.

Randa is the founder of Bankrupt Talent, an annual Rock & Roll benefit starring insolvency professionals.

Over the past ten years, Bankrupt Talent has raised in excess of a half a million dollars for national charitable institutions, tackling issues including homelessness, cancer research, underprivileged children in inner-city schools and for veterans struggling with PTSD.

She has also performed as a guest star with the Indubitable Equivalents, the Rock Band of the ABI.

What I do outside of work: For me, striving to change outcomes doesn’t stop in the board room. In my spare time, I use storytelling and art as an opportunity to change the world. My production company, Little Spoon, Big Spoon Productions, partners each artistic endeavor with a related non-profit organization, raising money and social awareness. #BeTheChange

Favorite sport:  Hockey, it helped form my life philosophy… “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” – Wayne Gretzky

Where I am from:  Growing up among the Green Mountains of Vermont taught me a lot of things, including that there are FIVE actual seasons. One can’t forget MUD SEASON, which runs from late March to early May!

They always send the A-team with a high level of trust and integrity.
