Christopher Karambelas has an established history in restructuring advising, finance, and healthcare, with more than 15 years of experience in project management and data analytics.

Since joining ToneyKorf Partners, Chris has served in various interim management and advisory roles throughout the tri-state area.  His most recent engagements included Milford Hospital (“Milford”) and Brookdale Hospital Medical Center (“Brookdale”).

During his time at Milford, Chris served as Director of Operations, working toward implementing various process improvement initiatives to prepare the organization for the integration into the Yale New Haven Health System.

While at Brookdale, Chris held various roles.  Most notably serving as the Interim Chief Information Officer, leading efforts to improve the Electronic Health Record (“EMR”) system by planning for a double Epic upgrade.  Other accomplishments in this role included planning for upgrades to the Human Resources and Payroll/Timekeeping systems (Lawson and Kronos, respectively), scoping and planning for the EMR implementation at the nursing home, preparing for a Data Center migration, and Disaster Recovery planning and testing.  Chris was also involved at a significant level in the creation of Brookdale’s strategic forecast for organizational growth, and oversaw the build-out and opening of new satellite clinics, in addition to many other projects.

In addition to his work at both Milford and Brookdale, Chris worked as Manager of Finance at Interfaith Medical Center with staff to create operational dashboards, improved patient throughput, and optimized OR utilization.

He also held a significant role at Saint Vincents Catholic Medical Centers of New York, where he was responsible for the bankruptcy administration and assisted with various asset sales.

Chris is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, a member of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, and a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional through the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He holds an Associate of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from Vermont Technical College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University, with a concentration in Finance and Accounting.

Get to Know Chris

What I do outside of work:  I love to be outdoors, skiing, biking, hiking, loving the mountains as well as the shore.  Traveling to all these locations is also exhilarating as I thoroughly enjoy driving.  Well, all but city driving of course.

My passion:  Food, good food. I have always had a well-developed palate.  My parents like to remind me that when I was 6 years old I asked for lobster for my birthday dinner.  Of course, good food is always paired with fine wine.  I have attended seminars on assorted wines and wine regions, which only enhanced my fascination with wines.
